In the Victorian era, sailors wore octopus medallions to ward off evil. Seamen understood the eerie magic of the octopus. Its black ink-jet expulsions and other-worldly appearance struck awe and terror in the observer, making it a great and powerful talisman.
The fine silver talisman with 22k gold accents is approximately 1” round and hangs from a 14k gold-filled short-long cable chain with a lobster clasp closure. The entire necklace measures 17” long.
